The Nigerian Journal of Anaesthesia (NJA) as a peer-reviewed scientific journal expects reviewers to do the following:

Provide speedy, accurate, unbiased and justifiable reports in a courteous manner. Unnecessarily harsh words may be modified or removed at the editors' discretion

Maintain the meticulous standards of the scientific process by upholding the quality and validity of individual articles

Uphold the integrity of the journal by identifying and reporting invalid research.

Should not utilise submitted manuscripts unethically or for unauthorised purposes.

Should not make use of the data, arguments, or interpretations, unless the authors’ permission has been granted.

Reviewers should communicate by writing in confidence to the editor if publication misconduct such as plagiarism is suspected.

Submit comments/recommendations meant for the authors to the editors with clarity that enhances an Editorial decision.

Comments should be constructive, suggesting how authors can improve the manuscripts for acceptability. Reviews with negative assessments should have clear explanations of the article or research’s weakness, so the concerned authors can understand the reason(s) for rejection of their manuscript and improve on it using those comments.

Declare any conflict of interests - personal, commercial, political, academic or financial to the Editor.

The review process for the NJA is conducted using the journal PKP/OJS publication platform.
